Epic 6: Jeff Chang
- Name: Jeff Chang
- Age: 21, Jeff Chang is a young full-time student studying to get into medicine to be a doctor to follow in the footsteps of his father. Jeff Chang lives by himself on campus. He spends most of his time studying and playing games alone in his dorm room as well as some time set aside for physical activities (running, gym, biking).
- Job: None, Jeff Chang is a full-time student with essentially no spare time, the little time he does have that’s free, he spends playing video games and exercising
- Relationship: Single, Jeff Chang has no time for relationships, and finds them to be a waste of time.
- Goals/Needs: Jeff Chang wants to be a model student and doctor, as such he wants to be in his peak physical health and fitness. An application that can accurately track and monitor his progress through his physical activities and produce a comprehensive analysis both during and post-exercise, through pace tracking, comparisons, graphs, and relative personal health.
- Motivations: Jeff Chang’s biggest motivation is the pressure from his peers and his family, as such the drive to push to be the best he can possibly be is high.
- Frustrations: Due to the lack of free time, Jeff Chang struggles to find a simple easy to use software that gives him a well-encompassing analysis of everything he wishes to track and monitor.
- Technical usage/proficiency: Jeff Chang grew up with technology and is well versed in all standard user interfaces, being a student as well he is forced to use all kinds of different applications on a day-to-day basis. Even in the most confusing of tasks, Jeff Chang can usually figure his way through it.
Epic 6: As Jeff Chang, I want to have a system of real-time tracking of my fitness as well as other things such as pace, (+- previous laps, comparisons), I want a system where I can customize this so I can focus on specific things from workout to workout (pace, distance traveled, overall time, beating goals) So I can push myself to my limit from workout to workout.
- User Story 1: As Jeff Chang I want to have a quick simple interface that I can check while I’m exercising that reports specific customize-able things (such as pace, distance traveled, etc.) so that I can push myself and get the most out of each workout.
- Tests:
- test customizing different trackable settings in real time
- test accurate tracking for trackable settings (distance, pace, time)
- Tests:
- User Story 2: As Jeff Chang I would like a post-workout analysis with a well-defined breakdown of progress, goals attained or not, graphs (for comparisons and tracking) as well as a breakdown of the workout itself, pace throughout, steps or km travelled
- Tests:
- test accuracy of post workout analysis
- test that data is properly portrayed when it’s produced
- Tests:
- Story Points 1: 5, Designing a simple customize-able interface shouldn’t take too long, but all the testing for accuracy and getting real-time tracking could prove to be more difficult
- Story Points 2: 7, Processing data and producing results and knowing what to do with the results will take a decent amount of time as there is quite a bit to sift through and analyze.
